Content Marketing: How Much Content is Enough?

Content marketing is with out a doubt the future of online marketing and building a network of interested, engaged readers, followers, and subscribers.  Content marketing is the combustion of the online marketing engine.  Content always has, and remains king.

But How Much Content Is Enough For a Content Marketing Strategy?

I came across this question earlier today and it got me thinking.  How much is really needed to be successful in a niche?  It's almost a trick question.  You can still completely market a small 5 or 6 page site with content or on the other hand you can post articles to your site every few minutes like many large sites will.

Let's take a look at both of those situations and see how depending on your situation and your goals either way could be a successful content marketing strategy that pays off for you.

A Small Content Site:

Just because you're focusing on content doesn't mean you need hundreds of daily posts.  All it takes to drive traffic and get conversions online is a single page.  It doesn't even have to be on your own site if you're using an affiliate marketing strategy like this one

To make a small site or single page be effective you need to continue promoting it using content and backlinks on other sites.  That doesn't mean you have to go and create the content yourself either.  Using fiverr or other low cost seo outsourcing you can easily rank for low and mid level competition keywords in just a few weeks.  As long as you've done good keyword research you can get traffic flowing and offers converting with as little as one page.

It really doesn't get any smaller than one page, does it?  Yet, it's still a profitable method used by many to get traffic and conversions.  The key is, although you only have a small amount of content, it needs to be as high quality as possible.

A Multiple Publish Per Hour Site:

Almost every site that uses this method uses one of these two techniques.  Either their content is curated from other websites, or they employ multiple bloggers and guest bloggers to continuously promote content on their pages.

Did you know you can get writers to write on your webpage without paying a base or hourly pay?

After you've established your website for a few months on your own, getting it set up and ready to go you can find writers to split adsense or marketing commissions based on what there content brings in.  If you're interested in this method you can find wordpress plugins for free that split advertising commissions.  Just do a search in the plugin store.

The other method to multiple daily and hourly updates to a website is what popular sites like Huffington Post are known for, curating.  Curating is simply finding useful and up to date content on other websites and writing a description and link to it on your website.  Almost like a social media network on your own domain.  Curating can be a lot of fun, but it can also be just as much work.

One thing big sites and even most successful sites that continuously use content marketing to drive traffic to their sites have in common is almost every one used social media sites like facebook, google +, twitter, and linkedin to drive traffic to their content.

To answer the question, how much content is enough content you need to find a balance that works well for you and your needs.  If you can post daily or multiple times per day, you're surely on a path to success with content marketing.

If you notice posting daily is too hectic for your schedule you can always scale back to once or twice per week or even month.  Another options I highly recommend is outsourcing your writing to copywriters or article writers, depending on your budget.  Just keep in mind, finding a quality writer for a good price is just like hiring a real employee.  You'll need to invest a little time to find the right one, but eventually you'll find someone who's a great fit.

No matter which option you choose, get started as soon as possible.  Content marketing is a long term process.  Don't expect huge results overnight and don't stop until you've built a long, steady flow of content to your site.

If you need help getting started, I recommend this evergreen marketing method as a solid, legitimate way to earn money online.

OK Google | Google Brings Speech To Search

Today Google releases OK Google bringing popular speech search to Chrome browsers.  All you need is a microphone and Google's Chrome Browser.

With Chrome open, just say, "OK Google" and ask your question or give your search term.

The new OK Google is compatible with Google Chrome and you can try it now, for free.

All you need is the Chrome browser, a microphone and the OK Google extension.  Once you're ready to test it out, just open your Google.com webpage and start your search by saying, OK Google.  Then it works just like a normal voice search.

It's great if you need a hands free way to check for quick questions like, how many ounces are in a cup during the holiday season but as of right now it's no where near as useful as the x Moto version which is always available, even when in sleep mode.

For OK Google to work, you need to have the Google.com webpage or search open and waiting, so if it's in the background it might not be as convenient.

Google is sure to improve their new speech to search feature, but for now it seems to be no more than a fun techy toy in the works.

You can download it here and try it today.

The Deep Secret To Successful Marketing

I see a lot of people come online and try to market products only to fail.  I've had the chance to help several of these marketers turn their websites around from no profit to bringing in affiliates sales.

Not my longest post ever, I'm really hoping to help open a few eyes who may be struggling online to get started and start bringing in a steady online income.

The secret no one tells you about marketing is this, if you want to be successful you need to stop looking for someone to answer all your questions and help you get started and become the person answering the questions and helping people solve their problems.

If right now you're thinking, I can't do that.. then you're dead wrong.  Even if you know absolutely nothing about a niche or topic you can easily put in some research time and learn all you need to know about getting started.

Forget the idea that you need to be a multi millionaire to teach people how to do something.  Every big name marketer got started at the bottom and worked their way up.  I'm sure there's a few exceptions to that rule, but the point is don't be afraid to get started and build yourself and your business as you go.

Stop being afraid of success and start embracing the opportunities in front of you.  No matter what niche you want to get started in, just get into it.  Start up social media accounts, and start building a network of people who are all interested in the niche and helping them find the highest quality content they're searching for.

If you're struggling with choosing a niche take a look at my 10 Evergreen Niches post and you'll see exactly where you should get started.

Just remember, whatever you decide to do online the only way to be truly successful is to become the go to website or person for people looking for content, help, answers and information.  Once you master that, you'll be unstoppable.

Are you struggling online?  Are you still struggling to find a niche, struggling to get traffic or convert your traffic into sales?  Let us know in the comments below what's holding you back and how you can overcome your struggles and be the success you deserve.

You'll notice each of these 10 niches are very large, very evergreen, and very popular.  For marketing online, competition is exactly what you want, it enables you to piggyback traffic from already established website and communities.

10. Weight LossWeight loss is one of the most evergreen niches online.  People are always looking for ways to lose weight, and the search volume is tremendous.  If you're just getting started there are countless plr products, sales funnels, and even email follow series you can use to get started.  The content is super easy to write and if you don't enjoy writing yourself, you can always get cheap content written on sites like iwriter for around $3 per article.

9. Build MuscleStep 1, lose weight.  Step 2... get in shape.  Building muscle goes hand in hand with weight loss, and targets a mostly male demographic.  For many marketers, they consider building muscle to be one of the easiest evergreen markets to enter.  CPA offers for muscle building supplements are a great way to monetize a muscle building affiliate site.

8. Dog TrainingDog Training isn't just an example you see in SEO videos, it's a profitable evergreen niche.  Every day people get new dogs and need help learning how to train dogs.  The pet industry is a $55,000,000,000 niche.  That's 55 billion which means there's plenty of room for another affiliate site to help new dog owners and make a healthy income in the process.

7. Alternative Energy$4 for a gallon of gas, it's no wonder so many people buy info products about solar, wind and alternative energy sources.  As long as people need energy, there's a market for how to save money and create your own energy.  This evergreen market is one of the fastest growing.

6. Make Money Online
Probably one of the most popular online niches, the Make Money Online niche is extremely popular, easy to buy traffic in and continuously provides new info products that people continue to buy.  This isn't a great first site, but definitely one of the best, most evergreen niches for an affiliate marketer who's ready to build a list and earn serious long term profits.

5. Dating
Thankfully, everyone needs someone!  The dating niche is massive.  The search engine traffic might be more difficult to tap into, but the social media possibilities are amazing.  If you're looking for a great way to get started in the dating niche, there's plenty of hot CPA offers, dating sites, and info products to help you and your readers find love, sex, and friendships.  Probably not in that order.

3. Medical Equipment
I'm sure you're surprised to see a physical product on the list, but it's such a profitable recurring purchase I couldn't go without saying.  You can find medical equipment affiliate offers on amazon and other sites and the need is tremendous.  The medical industry is considered recession proof too, so not only is this profitable niche evergreen, but it's also one of the most likely sources to keep you afloat if the market crashes and everything else falls apart.

Even Google is getting in the game with their new youtube on tv adapter.  TV on your pc saves people time doing what they love most, watching tv.  Combine two hot topics like a favorite pass time and saving money and you know what happens?  People can't help but buy stuff.

Content Marketing - More Than a Fad?

Today's word of the day seems to be content marketing.  Recently a big name marketer released a training course exposing content marketing as being the biggest, baddest, and newest marketing technique.  But is it?

Biggest and baddest, that's a good point.  Newest on the other hand seems like a long stretch, isn't it?

You don't hear content is king shouted from the mountain tops like you do, build a list.  But I've still heard it mentioned time and again since I got started in 2007.  It's hard to have a serious discussion about marketing online and not talk about content creation.

So Why Is It So Hot Right Now?

Quite frankly, the dust is starting to settle.  The penguin and panda updates are moving over and the new marketing techniques of 2013 are coming to the surface, slowly as marketers look back and analyze what's been working.

Content marketing has always been the key to success online.  It just that in today's environment it's more important than every to have a steady stream of content for subs and followers to consume.

Get lost in today's stream of information overload and you can easily get left behind.

To stay afloat in 2014 you'll need to keep a steady flow of content, continuously feeding your reader desire to have fresh new content.  The more you can be there in front of your potential clients, the more sales you'll get.  So naturally, the more content you share, the more successful you'll be.

Miss this step and you're likely to be the guy from last year no one remembers.

The push towards quality content is bigger and harder than ever before.  Products like Richard Lewis' Psycho Profits push quality content to the extreme, exposing what makes people tick, click and come back every time.

What do you think, is content marketing here for the long haul or do you see a new method rising to the top?
